Psychoeducational assessments are aimed at answering questions concerning cognitive, academic, social, emotional, behavioral, and adaptive functioning.
These assessments are typically conducted on individuals six-years or older and they can be helpful when an individual is not experiencing success at school and this frustration can present as anxiety, depression, or acting out behaviors at home or elsewhere.
Psycho-educational assessments can also be helpful for post-secondary students who are struggling in their program or feel lost when it comes to career aspirations.
The process for a psychoeducational assessment involves an initial intake to determine the specific hopes for the assessment and then follow-up appointments for interviews and testing. A debrief appointment and follow-up to the debrief will occur and a report will be provided with details on the findings and recommendations.
A typical cost of a complete psychoeducational assessment is $2500 and many extended healthcare insurance benefits cover the cost or partial cost of a psychoeducational assessment.
