Psychoeducational assessments identify areas of strength and weakness in a student’s learning profile and answers questions concerning cognitive, academic, social, emotional, behavioral, and adaptive functioning.
These assessments are typically conducted on students of all ages. They are also frequently used to help adults in post-secondary education.
Psychoeducational assessments screen for learning disorder, ADHD, anxiety/depression, intellectual disabilities, behavioral challenges, and executive functioning deficits.
A typical cost of a complete psychoeducational assessment ranges from $2250-$2500.
*Many extended healthcare insurance benefits cover the cost of a psychoeducational assessment.

Assessment of ADHD involves a detail assessment of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. This process also rules out other causes of inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity.
A typical ADHD assessment is $1500 and is often partially or completely covered by insurance.

A social-emotional assessment is conducted to better understand an individual’s inner life by exploring their feelings, thoughts, coping mechanisms, and ideas about self and the world. It is recommended when an individual exhibits emotional (e.g., anxiety, depression, etc), behavioural (e.g., defiance, rule breaking), or relational (i.e., difficulties initiating or maintaining relationships) issues.
A social-emotional assessment is $1200 and is partially or fully covered by extended healthcare insurance.

Vocational assessments are completed to help better understand an individual’s interests and how this can be connected with educational and occupational goals.
A typical vocational assessment is $2000.00

Children and teens often require a blended approach to engage, motivate, and help them navigate challenges. This may involve traditional talk-therapy, parent-child/teen relational therapy, as well as play-based approaches (e.g., Lego therapy, SandTray).
A typical child/teen session is 30-50 minutes and ranges from $150-$220 and is typically covered under an extended healthcare insurance plan.

Individual therapy consists of a collaborative relationship in which the therapist will tailor the approach to the individual’s mental health needs and personal preferences. Approaches that may be considered include psychodynamic therapy, ACT (acceptance and commitment therapy), supportive counselling, cognitive-behavioural therapy, solution-focused therapy, and narrative therapy.
A 50-minute session is $220 and is partially or fully covered by many extended health insurance plans.

Family therapy is an approach that places the relationship at the forefront and focuses in on altering patterns that contribute to problems.
Family therapy appointments are typically 90-minutes and $250 and are partially or completely covered by many extended healthcare insurance plans.
